Nexis, STN, Dialog esp@cenet, JPO etc.
  • For Non-patent search we use IEEE, ACM, Engineering Village, Citeseer, Scirus, Excite, Google etc.
  • Full structure searching is available for pharmaceutical, medical and chemical patent searches.
  • Gene searching is carried out using the D-gene searching database.

We carry out the following types of patent searches :

  • Novelty Search +

    • Novelty Search or Patentability Search is conducted in the early stages of a product development project.

A novelty search is conducted to determine if the invention is new. This can determine if further investment is justified. In addition to patent literature it is sometimes appropriate to search technical articles e.g.  Journals, books and articles on the internet.

We have a dedicated team of patent professionals for prior art searches that include subject matter experts to provide highest quality search reports. Our search is made using a paid databases like Micropatent, Delphion and Derwent and also free patent databases.

The prior art search report is prepared in a user-friendly manner that includes patent and non-patent references, along with expert comments. Our patent search reports are competitively priced while providing the highest degree of accuracy.
  • State of the Art Search +

    • State of the art searches are useful if a company is considering entry into a particular domain of technology (art). State of the art search results helps corporate to make critical technology decisions. These results can also be used as a navigation framework for product and process design. The search provides a landscape of patent and non-patent literature in a particular technology area.

After receiving a general product or business method description from you, we search all issued patents within the subject area, including unexpired (in-force) and expired patents and published applications. Because a product may have more than one invention associated with it, this search may result in the citation of many patents and published applications.
  • Freedom to Operate +

    • Freedom To Operate/Clearance search helps identify obstacles and barriers to entry of a product in a patent jurisdiction. The search is performed based on specific aspects of a product / technology, in the patent jurisdiction.

After you provide us with a brief invention disclosure and/or a hypothetical claim, we identify the claims of unexpired (in-force) patents within the patent jurisdiction that may be of interest to you. The search can be customized as per the request of the customer. This search is designed to assist a qualified attorney in providing advice to his or her client on avoiding infringement, in patent litigation, product clearance, or for obtaining patent infringement insurance.
  • Japanese / Korean/Chinese +

    • We understand the specific need of clients to look for Japanese / Korean or Chinese patent literature. We have evolved accurate methodologies to search patent literature of specific countries using advanced patent databases and also by using machine translations. We have teams that specialize in searching Chinese, Japanese and Korean patents.
  • Sequence / structure search +

    • Structure and genetic sequences are crucial in patents related to pharmaceutical and biotechnology domain. We have expertise for conducting structure searches or other gene sequence searches; we have a team of experts trained in using STN and other databases such as Dialog for conducting structure and sequence searches.

A sample of patent search report can be provided to you on request.
